Eric Mouquet & Sa DingdingEric Mouquet and Sa Dingding have composed a new song called Won't be Long, with the proceeds being donated to the disaster relief for the recent earthquake in the Sichuan province of China. The song title signifies that it won't be long before the wounds begin to heal and the people rebuild. The duet is sung by Eric and Sa Dingding, but still needs Chinese lyrics, and so they are asking for people to send in their suggestions. The best lyrics will be used in the final recording of the song. An unfinished version of Won't be Long can be heard on Sa Dingding's blog.

Sa Dingding is a Chinese folksinger and writer, best known for her 2007 album Alive which won a BBC world music award. She recently visited Eric's studio in France to be begin work on a new album entitled Deep China, part of the Deep Projects series.

Dear Chinese friends,

This is Eric of Deep Forest, I feel so sorry for the earthquake.....I firmly believe that through the hard work of all Chinese people, you will without a doubt over come this disaster. It won't be long. Not only you are working, but the whole world is making effort to help the people in Sichuan. My favorite Chinese musician Sa Dingding and I decided to consecrate this Wont Be Long to China, especially to those people who lost there home in this horrible disaster. We want to say that it won't be long until this disaster comes to an end. The pain will not last for long, because we are all here together with you, supporting you in creating a brand new home.

Because there are no Chinese lyrics yet to Won't be Long, with the help of Sina Net, I want to collect suggestions. I hope that this is a chance to get more people who care about Sichuan, and its people there, to show their love for this area and contribute their effort. Dingding and I will sing a duet with the best Chinese lyrics. Thank you all, and. thanks to Sina Net.
