The song was co-composed with Joseph Arthur, Ronan Browne, James McNally & Iarla Ó Lionáird (of the Afro Celt Sound System), and include Noel Ekwabi (bass), Vernon Reid (guitar synth) Papa Wemba Band (Conga), Chuck Norman (programming) and Tchad Blake (Keyboards, harmonium and flute like body bells).
The US release date for Big Blue Ball is June 24th.

Lastly, Michel Sanchez is currently updating his site, and will be back shortly with some suprises.
07.31.07 - Jean Sebastien was back in France recently working on his second solo album with Eric Mouquet. Flávio Dell'Isola says that he and Eric hope to finalize Deep Brasil by the end of April. The album combines Eric's Deep Forest influence with Flávio's Brazilian music.
Thanks to Lolo and Florian for the update on Aral, and to Flávio for the news about Deep Brasil
03.07.07 - A recent update to Eric Mouquet's site now lists three albums to be completed this year!
1) Deep Brasil with Flavio Dell'Isola, which appears to allude to Deep Forest. Eric has said that this album will appeal to DF fans, but won't be an official Deep Forest album.
2) Le Roi Lion (The Lion King).
3) Aral 2, the sequel to the 1999 Catherine Lara collaboration Aral and will involve Franco Dragone

10.27.06 - Catherine Lara (Aral & Thorgal) and Eric Mouquet have recently started working on a new production together. There is a strong possibility that Franco Dragone will be part of this special project. Dragone (Italian actor/director) may be best known for his creative direction that helped Cirque du Soleil develop its unique tone, atmosphere and soul during the 80s and 90's.
In the meantime, Eric's project with Brazilian singer-guitarist Flavio Dell'Isola is almost complete. All the compositions are done, and only the mixing phase remains. This is especially exciting news because this album should appeal to Deep Forest fans!
Tragédiennes which mixes electronic music and old French recordings from the 30s and 40s is also almost done. Pierre Jacquot is taking care of the final cleaning steps in order to try to eliminate some artifacts from the old records.
As many of you know, when Eric isn't in his music studio, he's in his observatory capturing stunning images of the universe. We want to congratulate Eric for recently being featured on NASA's 'Picture of the Day'!
Thanks to Eric Mouquet for the news.
09.28.06 - Awake will include two songs composed and produced by Eric Mouquet. His song Machine features a dream team of musicians with Herbie Hancock on the Rhodes electric piano, Nathan East on bass, Vinnie Colaiuta on drums, Michael Thompson on guitar and Tower of Power for the brass arrangements.
Eric's other composition is the title song Awake which will only be available as a bonus track on the CD/DVD release of the album. Unlike Machine which is a much more experimental song, Awake is a balled more like Remember When it Rained.
Most of the two songs were recorded at Eric's EMM Studio in France when Josh visited earlier this year. Eric then flew to L.A. to record all the live musicians, the strings and Josh's vocals. Mixing of the music was performed by Humberto Gatica.
Thanks to Eric Mouquet for the news.
09.26.06 - Josh Groban's new album Awake will be out November 7th, and will feature either one or two songs from Eric Mouquet. A snippet of one of Eric's songs can now be heard as part of the flash promo on Josh's Official site. The song features Herbie Hancock playing his beloved Fender Rhodes electric piano, accompanied by some very Deep Forest-styled arrangements.
07.04.06 - Mouquet has agreed to produce at least one or two songs for the debut album Jade from the Finnish group Tundra. Eric is expected to work with the group sometime this fall. Tundra's music has been described as a 'multicultural collective combining all possible music styles in an intriguing way'.
We would also like to make mention of a release from last March. The french television talent show Star Academy released the album, Star Academy 5: Chacun Sa Route, Chacun Son Refrain which features C'est ta voix (composed by Eric Mouquet). The song originally appeared in the French film Livraison à Domicile as Voice Inside (featuring Anggun) but was never commercially released.

05.22.06 - Eric followed up with some more information. The film project he's currently working on is for Patek Philippe (famous Swiss watch manufacturer), which is having a big event this summer. In the meantime Eric is composing an album together with a Brazilian artist. Eric's also about to start working on some music for an unnamed commercial movie.
And on clear nights he continues to take amazing pictures of the cosmos :)
Thanks to Eric Mouquet for the update.
04.06.06 - Marco Papazian (played with Bernard Lavilliers and on Welenga) just finished recording the guitar for Michel's solo album. Plans to record the drums and bass guitar are next. Here's a photo of Marco recording at Sanchez's studio.
News courtesy of Bernard D. & michelsanchez.com
04.01.06 - Ok, this news is very loosely Deep Forest related. Telex just released their first album in 20 years called How do You Dance. The album is a cool cross between new and old electronic music. For those unfamiliar with Telex, they were pioneers of electronic music in the late 70s and 80s. The group includes Dan Lacksman, producer and engineer of Deep Forest's debut album. Samples, videos, and interviews from the new release are available at their new site.
03.28.06 - Josh Groban returned for a two day (March 25th & 26th) recording session at Eric Mouquet's EMM studio. Josh had already recorded several demos and tested a few different microphones at EMM studio back in January. In their latest session they recorded the final vocals and piano portions. Photos of Josh's visit are available here.
Information courtesy of Pierre Jacquot.
02.10.06 - Michel Sanchez has composed 16 songs for his solo project, 12 songs for the upcoming album and 4 others for a future album. He spent this week rerecording all the piano portions. Next week Marco Papazian (Welenga - guitar) will be rerecording the guitar and in 3 or 4 weeks Manu Catché will be remaking parts of the percussion. Michel also still needs to rerecord the final vocals and lyrics before mixing and mastering all the music two months from now!

02.06.06 - Eric Mouquet and Pierre Jacquot (sound engineer for Deep Forest) spent a few days at Eric's home studio in January recording music with Josh Groban. Josh's previous album Closer sold over 6 million albums worldwide and included two songs composed and arranged by Eric. The new album will be available this summer, and is expected to be more "worldly". During their session Pierre had a chance to compare 7 high-end microphones he was loaned for testing. Josh was very impressed with the recording quality.

Aside from music production, Mouquet continues work on an astronomy photography book, to be released in December of 2006.

thanks to Eric Mouquet for the information
06.05.05 - Just as sometimes happens in Hollywood, the Tahitian production of 'Napua, the Man's Land Princess' turned out to be a little more hype than reality. Several big names had been attached to the project, but due to production difficulties the film never began shooting. Director Lamar Hawkins, along with Tiki Sunrise Pictures, are still interested in seeing what they feel is a 'great film script' come to life. But at this point production has been postponed to a later unknown date. The film was to include several thematical pieces from Deep Forest.
News is courtesy of Lamar Hawkins

It's unclear if this might be the same solo 'electro-ethnic' album (A Way to Freedom) that Moraz began some years ago.
03.06.05 - French rock group Khâro recently spent several recording sessions at EMM (Eric Mouquet Music). The group was awarded the recording session for winning a music contest, of which Eric Mouquet was one of the judges. 12.22.03 - In addition to his forth coming work with Jean Sebastien and Deep Forest, Eric Mouquet has plans for a rock project which will include collaborations from big and unknown artists. The project will give Eric a chance to get in touch with his past, when he played in a rock band at fifteen.
There is no current schedule for the project and because of Eric's busy agenda, it's not likely it will happen in the near future.
12.15.03 - Check out the music video for 'We are the Champions'.
12.07.03 - The cover of 'We are the Champions' sung by TV pop-contest finalist Jean Sebastien, (produced by Eric Mouquet) will air this week, while Eric continues production of Jean's new album.

12.05.03 - Sanchez and Mouquet said they will be returning to the studio in 2004 to begin working together on a new Deep Forest album. The direction of the next Deep Forest album is still unknown, 'We need to play music and see what's happened'.
11.30.03 - Eric Mouquet is in the studio with french vocalist Jean Sebastien. Jean can currently be seen on the TV contest 'Á la Recherche de La Nouvelle Star', France's equivalent of 'American Idol'.
