This is Deep Forest's debut album. Of course, if you haven't heard
Deep Forest before, this is the place to start. It includes their
first hit, "Sweet Lullaby". The sounds are taken from
African tribes, as well as from the Solomon Islands.
This CD has been out of print for quite some time now, so getting it brand new is very difficult. You may be lucky and get a new copy from eBay or gemm, but don't count on it. If you're only looking for the music, not this particular release, take a look at "World Mix." It is the same music (plus a few bonus remixes) as this release, and is still in print. See below for information on where to purchase "World Mix." Be aware that, depending on which release you buy, you may or may not get the song "Forest Hymn." This song is only avalable on later U.S. and U.K. releases. Depending on where you look, you really shouldn't have to pay more than $10 for a used copy of this CD. This album is on eBay all the time, so getting a copy should be plenty simple. |

This Austrian single contains 6 remixes of the title track.
What's particularly noteworthy is that the track 'Sunrise at Alcatraz Session - Part 1' - a 3 1/2 minute, mostly-instrumental remix - can only be found on this release. I was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of this single on eBay for less than $5. If you're patient, you should be able to find a similar deal. This two-track promotional CD is pretty hard to find. I've only
seen it on eBay once in the past year, but it went for fairly cheap.
Patience is really the only option in obtaining this single. (As of 2/24/02) Hot Wax Records, a recordshop in the UK, has one copy available for sale. It's listed for $11.51 (€13.11). This Euorpean single contains some great remixes. This is the only
place you will find Guillaume Ferot's Mix.
This comes as a digipack with only one CD. The other slot contains an advertisement for the 'Ambient Mixes' single (see its entry below). This single isn't very hard to find, if you are patient. I've seen it on eBay several times. It also shouldn't cost you too much to get. (As of 2/24/02) Hot Wax Records, a recordshop in the UK, has a copy available for sale. It's listed for $4.39 (€5.02). This 12" single has a lot of the standard remixes available on
CD. It doesn't appear that there are many copies lying
around. I've never seen it on eBay.

This single is known as 'The Ambient Mixes' single. The remixes
contained on it are nice, though not always exclusive to this
single. It's usually easy to find, and not too expensive.

This promotional cassette is quite difficult to find. I was able to
find mine on GEMM.
This single contains 4 tracks. All of them are much shorter than the versions of the songs which are found on the album. The first track also has a man's voiceover, promoting the full-length album. I've only seen this for sale once, and I bought it. :-) |

promotional CD only contains the radio edit of "Deep
Forest." Nothing too remarkable. But, if you must have
everything, then you have to get this one.

"Deep in the Jungle Mix" (sorry, no relation) is only found on
this 2x12" promo single. It also has 9 other mixes of 'Deep
Forest' on it. Quite nice to have in your collection.

This French CD single contains two tracks, both short, and both quite
similar in sound.

Two remixes are found only on this single, "A Trip to the Forest
Mix" and the "Deep Groove Mix." The latter is quite
good, and worth getting the single for. Unfortunately, it's quite
rare.

There isn't too much that's special about this 5 track single. It
has 2 remixes which are found on most other Sweet Lullaby singles.

This single has two things going for it. First, it's got three
remixes by Jam El Mar, and they're pretty nice. Second, it's got a
cool cover. :-)

Really, this 12" single is only a collector's item. There's
nothing new on it. Just "Sweet Lullaby" and "Forest
Hymn."
It's not common; never seen it on eBay. It's on GEMM once in a while though. (As of 2/26/02) Record Finder has one copy listed for $5.50 (€6.37). Be aware, however, that they haven't updated their catalog since September of 2001, so they may not have it in stock any longer. It surely wouldn't hurt to email them first to find out. times a week. And, it's usually not too expensive. The
"Bonus A La Efx" is a shorter version of the "Tribal As A
Mojo Mix."
